STYLISH COUNTERTOPS
A new countertop can change the appearance of the entire kitchen. It provides the main work surface while tying together the cabinetry, backsplash, hardware, and other finishes.
Calgary Kitchen Restyling supplies and coordinates countertops as part of our complete kitchen renovations, cabinet refacing projects, and Beautifully Blended Kitchens. We do not provide countertop replacement as a standalone service.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT COUNTERTOP
Most of our customers select quartz because it offers a wide range of colours and patterns, requires relatively little maintenance and works well with many different kitchen styles.
For homeowners who prefer the natural variation found in stone, granite and quartzite provide distinctive colour, grain and movement. Every slab is different, so the actual stone should be viewed before making a final selection.
Laminate can be a practical choice when the project budget is more limited. Today’s laminate countertops are available in a broad range of colours and patterns and can provide an attractive finished surface at a lower price point.
Each material has different characteristics, care requirements and pricing. Calgary Kitchen Restyling helps you compare the appropriate options and select a countertop that suits the kitchen design, everyday use and overall project budget.
BRINGING THE DESIGN TOGETHER
Its colour and pattern must work with the cabinetry, backsplash, flooring, hardware and lighting. The countertop can remain quiet and allow other elements to stand out, or it can introduce stronger colour and movement into the room.
Thickness, edge profile, overhangs and seam locations also influence the finished appearance. Islands require additional consideration for seating, support and countertop proportions.
Features such as waterfall ends or full-height stone backsplashes should be considered early on, as they affect material requirements and the overall design.
The sink and faucet should also be selected before the countertop is finalized. Their style, colour and installation type should complement both the countertop and cabinetry.

common questions
WHICH COUNTERTOP MATERIAL IS MOST POPULAR?
Quartz is the most common selection for our kitchen projects because of its broad range of designs and relatively low maintenance requirements.
Granite and quartzite are available for homeowners who prefer natural stone, while laminate offers a practical option for projects on a tighter budget.
CAN CALGARY KITCHEN RESTYLING REPLACE ONLY MY COUNTERTOP?
No. We supply and coordinate countertops as part of a complete kitchen renovation, cabinet refacing project or Beautifully Blended Kitchen.
DOES THE SINK NEED TO BE SELECTED AT THE SAME TIME?
Yes. Select the sink and faucet before measuring and fabricating the countertop. Their specifications affect the required openings and may influence the surrounding cabinetry.
WILL MY COUNTERTOP HAVE SEAMS?
Some countertops require seams because of the kitchen layout, slab dimensions or access into the home. Seam locations are planned around fabrication, installation and the finished appearance.
SHOULD THE COUNTERTOP AND BACKSPLASH BE SELECTED TOGETHER?
Yes. These surfaces meet visually and physically, so their colours, patterns, thicknesses and installation details should be considered together.
